Taylor Siering is a mom of two from New York City, currently living in the midwest. She writes personal essays and reviews related to motherhood, mom content, pop culture and social media trends for Scary Mommy.

Taylor holds a Master's degree and is currently a PhD student who studies the intersection of professional work and gender, with a specific focus on the experiences of mothers and motherhood. She has presented at academic conferences and has had articles accepted into academic journals on the topic of work and gender. Prior to starting grad school, she worked in HR/People & Talent Development in the advertising industry. She has spent time working, being a stay at home mother, and being a mother in grad school, which has informed both her personal, professional and academic experiences and understandings. She enjoys discussing and analyzing pop culture and examining complexities in the broader culture, specifically related to gender and millennial motherhood.

She is a meticulous curator of playlists with a very actively used library card. She is an Aquarius, a pseudo Star Wars scholar, and would be a Slytherin (sad but true).
